Hi, I'm Dr Kath.
I'm a GP at Crestwood Family Practice in Bella Vista, looking after Hills District families at every age and stage — with special interests in skin cancer checks and women's health. Friendly, thorough, and always happy to explain what's going on.
New patients welcome — book online or call (02) 9836 1022.
The kind of GP who remembers your name
Good medicine starts with listening. Whether you're bringing in a newborn, managing blood pressure, or finally getting that spot on your shoulder looked at, I take the time to hear the whole story — and to make sure you leave understanding the plan, not just holding a script.
I practise at Crestwood Family Practice in Bella Vista, right in the heart of the Hills District. Alongside everyday general practice, I've developed a special interest in skin cancer medicine and dermoscopy, because in Australia an early look at the right spot genuinely saves lives. The other big part of my week is menopause and women's health — care that deserves a proper conversation, not a rushed one.
Two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70.
Found early, almost all skin cancers are treatable. A full skin check takes about 20 minutes — quick, painless, and worth doing once a year, especially if you work or play outdoors.
We talk
Your skin history, family history, sun exposure and anything you've noticed — the five-minute chat that tells me where to look hardest.
I look — properly
A head-to-toe examination with a dermatoscope, a magnified polarised lens that shows what the naked eye can't.
You get a plan
Reassurance, photos to monitor a spot, or a biopsy if something needs a closer look — always explained clearly, never rushed.
Between checks, know your ABCDE
The melanoma warning signs, in the order doctors teach them.
Asymmetry
One half of the spot doesn't match the other.
Border
Edges that are ragged, notched or blurred.
Colour
More than one shade — browns, blacks, reds or blues.
Diameter
Bigger than about 6 mm — roughly a pencil eraser.
Evolving
Any spot that's changing, itching or bleeding.
Noticed something on this list? Don't wait for your annual check.
Care that deserves a proper conversation
Perimenopause and menopause are some of the most common — and most rushed — conversations in general practice. I book longer appointments for them, because working out what's going on with your hormones, sleep, mood and body takes more than ten minutes.
Perimenopause & menopause
Making sense of symptoms, talking honestly through menopausal hormone therapy (MHT/HRT) and the alternatives, and planning for bone and heart health beyond the hot flushes.
Screening & prevention
Cervical screening, breast checks and imaging referrals, bone density and heart health — the quiet routine work that catches things early.
Hormones & contraception
Contraception choices at every stage, period problems, and support for the years when your body keeps changing the rules.
Mention it's for menopause or women's health when you book, so we get the time we need.
Everyday care, for everyone
Family & children's health
Childhood immunisations, development checks, and care for the whole household under one roof.
Skin checks & procedures
Full-body skin cancer examinations, mole monitoring, biopsies and minor skin procedures.
Chronic disease care
Ongoing management of diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and asthma, with regular reviews.
Women's & men's health
Screening, contraception, menopause care, prostate checks and honest conversations.
Mental health & wellbeing
Mental health care plans, check-ins without judgement, and referrals when extra support helps.
Preventive health
Health assessments, travel vaccinations, screening reminders and keeping small things small.
Take-home reading
Pamphlets and guides I often share in appointments — free to download, handy to revisit at home.
Guides are being added — check back soon.
